    'The missing link': New early tyrannosaur species discovered by Calgary researchers

    University of Calgary scientists have discovered a new dinosaur specimen that appears to be the 'missing link' in the evolution of tyrannosaurs. The species, called Khankhuuluu mongoliensis, seen in this handout image, is believed to have crossed to North America via a land bridge from Siberia to Alaska 85 million years ago.
